Carlo Francisco Manatad is a film director and editor based in Manila. He has built a following on the independent short film circuit for his original vision, producing inventive, genre-defying films revealing the light and dark sides of life in his native Philippines. His short films were screened at international film festivals including Clermont-Ferrand, Locarno, Uppsala, Winterthur and Busan. In 2017, Jodilerks dela Cruz, Employee of the Month, premiered in the 56th Semaine de la Critique at the Cannes Film Festival, and Fatima Marie Torres and the Invasion of Space Shuttle Pinas 25 won the Best Comedy Award at Aspen Shortsfest, an Academy Award qualifying festival. Carlo is alumnus of the Asian Film Academy, Berlinale Talents Campus, DocNet Campus Project, La Fabrique des Cinémas du Monde аnd the Torino Film Lab.
