In the sleepy East German village of Wiesenwalde, the only local attraction is the birthplace of a classical composer. So when an American film crew arrives to shoot a World War II series, the villagers are determined to take advantage of the opportunity to chase their personal dreams—until a sudden power outage and a missing tank risk ruining all their plans.

Jannis Alexander Kiefer

Jannis Alexander Kiefer was raised in a village on his family’s farm and, after various internships, studied Audiovisual Media in Berlin and Directing at the Film University Babelsberg. His films premiered at prestigious Festivals like Warsaw IFF, Clermont-Ferrand, Moscow IFF and Palm Springs IFF among others. For German Quality/Colleagues (2020) he won the Silver Egg at Kustendorf IFF. His first feature film is 2024’s Another German Tank Story. Like his previous works, this film delves into the intricate and precarious microcosms of small communities. Kiefer lives and works in Berlin and Freiburg.
