Sean Baker

Sean Baker is an award-winning writer, director, producer, and editor. He is best known for directing independent feature films about the lives of marginalized people, especially sex workers. He is the recipient of the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival for the film Anora (2024). His previous movie Red Rocket (2021) also premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, as did The Florida Project (2017), to widespread critical acclaim. Sean was named Best Director by the New York Film Critics Circle. Tangerine (2015) premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and won an Independent Spirit and two Gotham Awards. Starlet (2012) won the Robert Altman Independent Spirit Award.
