Amanda has a problem, if she is alone, she can’t sleep. Her days pass in a calm, orderly fashion; she fills her nights with lovers that help her pass the hours. Her world is upset overnight when she has to take care of her old and alcoholic grandmother Dolores, a retired actress who now lives on memories of her past glory.
Natalia Beristain Egurrola was born in 1981 in Mexico City. She graduated from the CCC film school with a degree in film directing. Her short film Peces plátano won the best Mexican short film award at the 5th Morelia International Film Festival. In 2010, she directed Entre Guerras, a work that forms part of the alternative repertoire of the National Theater Company. She Doesn't Want to Sleep Alone (2012) is her feature film debut.
