Emerson Reyes

Emerson Reyes’ feature debut MNL 143 premiered at the 66th Edinburgh International Film Festival and was praised by film critics. His film Walang Katapusang Kwarto won the Best Short Film, Best Screenplay and Audience Choice awards at the 7th Cinemalaya Film Festival. The film was also exhibited at the 15th Thai Film Festival. His short documentary film Neo Rebolusyon was funded by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts in cooperation with Goethe Institut, Independent Filmmakers Cooperative and De La Salle - College of St. Benilde. His experimental film Ang Ebolusyon ni Kasalanan won first prize in the Experimental Category of both the 21st Gawad CCP for Alternative Film and Video and the 180 Microcinema Film Festival. It also won 1st Prize in the 5th Uncensored Bodies Video Competition, Silver Award in the 1st Philippine Digicon Award. His short film Telenobela ni Juan at Luzviminda was part of an omnibus project of ABS-CBN and represented the Philippines at Digicon 6 in Tokyo, Japan. Reyes’ short film IKOT won at the 18th Gawad CCP for Alternative film and Video.
