    Biography

    Leila Hatami

    Leila Hatami, the daughter of the legendary Iranian director Ali Hatami, was born in Tehran. She studied electrical engineering at EPFL in Lausanne but changed her major to French literature before moving back to Iran.

    Although she had a few short appearances in some of her father’s films during childhood and a role in 1992 in her father’s Delshodegan, she made her professional entry into cinema with Dariush Mehrjui’s Leila in 1996 for which she received the critics’ raves.  She won the best actress award in Montreal film festival 2002 for her role in Deserted Station and the Silver Bear of the 61st Berlin film festival as the best actress for her role in Nader and Simin, A Separation. She played at: The Mix (Dariush Mehrjui, 2000), Low Heights (Ebrahim Hatamikia, 2002), Portrait of a Lady Far Away (Ali Mosaffa, 2005), Shirin (Abbas Kiarostami, 2008), What a wonderful life or Lovely Sky (Dariush Mehrjui, 2009), Nader and Simin, A Separation (Asghar Farhadi, 2011)

    Pierre Edelman

    Pierre Edelman is a renowned French film producer whose efforts resulted in the realization of some of the most significant film projects that marked the last decade of 20th century and the beginning of the new millennium. In his successful and prolific career, Edelman has worked with cult film authors as David Lynch, Pedro Almodovar, Mike Leigh and Emir Kusturica.

    His long-lasting collaboration and friendship with the controversial director David Lynch started in 1991 with Twin Peaks – Fire Walk with Me, with Edelman as an executive producer. As a result of their cooperation, Lynch made another three movies The Straight Story (2000), Mulholland Drive (2001) that has won many awards, with Edelman as an executive producer again, and Inland Empire (2005), where he was a special director consultant.

    As a production supervisor, in the early '90s, Edelman worked on Pedro Almodovar’s High heels, and as an executive producer of Piano by the New Zealand film director Jane Campion. The later won Golden Palm (Palm d’Or) at the Cannes Film Festival in 1993. The collaboration with Emir Kusturica on Underground won him another Golden Palm in 1995, and as early as the following year, one more movie he had worked on, won this same prestigious award. It is the movie Secrets and Lies by a famous British director and screenwriter Mike Leigh.

    After a number of successes, Edelman collaborated with Almodovar again on Live Flesh (1997) and All About my Mother (1999). The film All About my Mother won numerous awards, including the Oscar - Academy Award for best foreign language film. Edelman also continued his cooperation with Mike Leigh, produced All or Nothing in 2002, and worked on Vera Drake. The latter won Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 2004. That very same year Edelman produced Kusturica’s film Life is a Miracle

    Biography

    Zoran Cvijanović

    Zoran Cvijanović, famous Serbian actor and producer, was born on 25 January 1958 in Belgrade. He graduated acting at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade in Professor Miroslav Dedić’s class in 1982. Cvijanović began his acting career with a role in movie Red Earth (1974), followed by a role of Sojka in the popular TV series Sivi dom (1984-1986) brought him greater success and popularity. From the late '80s, Cvijanović’s career grows steadily. He has had a number of prominent film roles, played in more than 50 movies, with the most popular: Oktoberfest (1987), Poltron (1989), Tattoo (1991), We Are Not Angels (1992), Neither on the Sky nor on the Earth (1994), Pretty Village, Pretty Flame (1996), Thunderbirds (2001), We Are Not Angels 2 (2005), Ivko's Feast (2005), We Are Not Angels 3: Rock & Roll Strike Back (2006), St. George Shoots the Dragon (2009).

    Cvijanović has also acted in more than 20 popular TV series, such as: Sivi Dom (1984-1986), the Policeman from Petlovo Brdo (1993-1994), Open door (1994-1995), Složna braća (1996), Mile vs. transition (2003-2007), Black Gruja (2003-2004), Guess What Begins with Letter...(2010). He has worked on film and television, but at the same time he has made the significant career in the theatre. In the period from 1982 and 1987 he was a member of Yugoslav Drama Theatre, and later became a member of Atelje 212 (Theatre 212), where he has acted until 2001.

    In the last few years Cvijanović has intensively worked as a film producer and till the present time he has produced and co-produced more than ten movies, among which are the following: Thunderbirds (2001), Loving Glances (2003), When I Grow Up, I'll Be a Kangaroo (2004), The Border Post (2006), St. George Shoots the Dragon (2009), and the first Serbian animated feature film Technotise: Edit & I (2009).

    Zoran Cvijanović is one of the most prominent Serbian artists and he is very active in Serbian cultural and social life. He is married and has two children.
