The guest of the fourth Kustendorf International Film and Music Festival will be celebrated Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami. In his almost fourty year long film career, Kiarostami was a screenwriter, producer, editor, photographer, actor. He is also a poet, painter, illustrator and graphic designer.
Through his films, which revolve around ordinary people and stories from everyday life, he gained international fame and recognition both by the audience, and the critics. His recognizable poetics, documentary – narrative style and engaging in eternal human values won him many awards, including the Golden Palm at the 1997 Cannes Film Festival for his creation Taste of Cherry. He is considered as one of the greatest and most important directors of today, and thanks to his works, Iranian cinema has long been present at all major international film festivals.
