  Andrea Gambetta was born in Parma in 1964. Since 1985 he has been part of the management of Centro Culturale Edison in Parma, encompassing Cinema Edison and Teatro Cinghio, as well Galleria delle Colonne. His field of action includes multimedia events, cinema, drama, dance, classical music and jazz, as well as figurative arts.
In 1994, Associazione Edison became Cooperativa Edison of which he was appointed Vice-President. He organized important events with the direct participation of the Wim Wenders and Emir Kusturica. In 1999 he held the position of Cooperativa Edison’s Tour Manager, promoting the music project dedicated to Emir Kusturica & No Smoking Orchestra. In the same year he was appointed Chair of Unione Italiana Circoli del Cinema. In 2000 he was the Executive Producer of the film Super 8 Stories, a documentary directed by Emir Kusturica.
In the year 2000, he was appointed councillor of the Parma Municipality in charge of the Verdi Celebrations, Theatre Performances and Tourism. He invited to Parma directors such as B. Bertolucci, G. Bertolucci, A. Jodorowsky, E. Kusturica, G. Pontecorvo, W. Herzog, K. Loach, A. Konchalovsky, P. Greenaway, Nobel Prize winners D.Walcott, J. Saramago and W. Soynka and writers A. Baricco and P.Cacucci.
Since 2002 he has been Production Director of Biennial of the Arts of Valencia in Spain and produced the projects The Ideal City, Solares and Agua sin ti no soy, with leading exponents of contemporary art from all over the world.
From 2002 to 2005 he was in the Board of Directors of the Reggio-Parma Festival, the institution comprising the Verdi Festival, Reggio Emilia Danza and the Festival dell'Attore.
He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Solares Fondazione Culturale of Parma, Chair of the Reggio Parma Festival and artistic director of GNAM (Gastronomy in modern art), the project where artists from around the world give their interpretations on the theme of food.
